A Thousand Years without You
A
Synopsis
Luna Lee Anderson has only
ever dreamt of one thing. Every night for seventeen years she has dreamt of a
beautiful man with turquoise eyes, hair as black as pitch, and a body built
like a god. But this man, no matter if he is caressing her face or staring in
the distance, always expresses such
desolation and angst and pain and sorrow on his face. Why? Luna wonders.
But on her eighteenth
birthday, the dream is different. Her dream man is no longer the man her friends
would drool over. He is fighting what some would view as the battle of the end
of the world. At first, the enemy presents themselves as innocent and beautiful
as angels. But as the fight continues, their eyes turn the reddest of red,
their anger distorts their faces, and they become fiend-like creatures.
Although the man does not seem to have a problem fighting them, he also changes
during the confrontation. He now has hair of silver and he wields a sword and
gun that bear Roman Numerals. The demons, with fangs bared, attack him with
supernatural powers and all seems lost for her man. But the enemy is soon
turned to ashes.
After the battle, the man
turns back to the man Luna has dreamt about, and although she is afraid of him
at first, Luna knows this is the man she is meant to spend the rest of her life
with. But is he real, a figment of her imagination, or is she going crazy?
But today is her birthday,
and like usual, she will spend it with her childhood friends Kenneth, Tom,
Silvia, and her brother Nicholas. For today they are celebrating more than her
birthday...they will all be attending NYU in the fall.
Unbeknownst to Luna, the
man of her dreams, Will, has been watching over her and protecting her since
she was born, for Luna is the reincarnation of his wife, Noche, and he has been
waiting for her for one thousand years. But Will is not something that Luna
would easily accept. He is a vampire. But more importantly, Will is the Sinner,
an outcast reviled and scorned by two worlds...the vampires he was initially
destined to fight, and the vampire fighters who shared that destiny. The only
people he can trust are his siblings, but he betrayed them centuries ago.
After leaving the birthday
celebration with her friends, Luna encounters a young, prince-like boy who
gives her a rose. But what happens next is beyond her imagination. Luna must
flee to save her sanity. When she arrives at Silvia’s, there is a surprise
party of course, but it does not end as she expected. After hearing the Voice
for the first time, she felt this urge to follow it and encounters something she
would never think possible: a group of vampires who call her “Princess” and
kill her friends. This is not how she expected to meet Will. But he saves her
life, takes away the memories, and brings back her friends from the Abyss, the
place where the souls of people killed by the dark creatures go after death.
Luna now knows he is not a
figment of her imagination, so she enlists Silvia’s help in finding the man of
her dreams. They do not succeed, but instead meet the nine-year-old author of
the bestselling novel, The Fallen Vampire.
A tragic love story about a vampire hunter who fell in love with the Princess
of Vampires, and is sentenced to roam the world in solitude after she gave up
her immortality in order to save him. Zephilia
Norman, the author the book, has the same turquoise eyes of Luna’s dream
man...why does Luna feel a connection to her? Luna adds this question to this
rest facing her. Why are these creatures after her? Why do they call her
“Princess” and what is so special about her blood? Why does this Voice keep
luring her to strange places?
But when he introduces
himself to her as a vampire hunter, all her question vanished from the fear of
losing him. As long as they were together she didn’t care about why everybody,
vampire or hunter, seem to hate him. But after numerous attacks from these dark
creatures, Luna decides it is time to participate in her destiny. She will
learn to fight alongside Will and his quirky siblings—one is a world famous
model, and yes, she is also a witch. One is a professional football player and,
he is also a werewolf. And of the course, the twins—movie stars and celebrities
in their own right— are not your average youngsters. He is a dragon, and she is
a “tamer” who can summon any of the unnatural and fables creatures with merely
the call of her voice. There is also the music prodigy sister who can summon
the dead and possesses their power in combat, she also seem to be dating a dead
vampire hunter. And last, but not least, the novelist and master of time and
space little sister.
The one that affects her
most, though, is their nephew Michael, who looks exactly like Will. Same eyes,
same height, same hair, same arms, the only difference is the fact that Michael
smiles and laughs and fights as if he enjoys it. He is the antithesis of Will.
And nobody hates Will more than Michael. Even so he will become Luna’s master
and partner in the art of becoming a vampire hunter, and also a major rival to
Will.
During her training—which
she barely survives—Luna learns more about the creatures that should not exist
in this world. The Ancestors are the demons who freed the Creatures of Night from
hell. They created the five realms of these creatures. And from their own blood,
they created the “Purebloods”. These vampires are almost impossible to kill. There
are also the “Elders”, humans turned into vampires by the Ancestors and Purebloods.
Their offspring are called the “Elite” and they are gifted with the power of
the elements. There are five vampire clans but the Blue-Eyed Clan is the one that
wants her most, for they must take her to the Blue-Eyed Prince. Luna knows she
is bound to this prince in some way, but no one will tell her exactly how, or
why.
Will cannot let the Prince
take her back to his realm, for she is the love of his live. He cannot let her
once again join the true world of the vampires when he knows Noche has always
dream of the sun. But the Blue-Eyed Prince has other ideas. Will is unable to
stop the Prince from entering her dreams, but he can prevent her from leaving
this ideal world and family she now has.
Dreams of the small boy
with the rose and a girl resembling Luna force her to face a reality she is not
ready for yet. When she fights along-side Will and his family against some
Purebloods, Will’s sacred sword, Gladius Victor Aeterna appears in her hand,
filling her with a power and knowledge she can’t comprehend. Her connection to
the sword is obvious to those around her, for her aura is one of pure light.
Her mind tells her she is not the Vampire Princess as everyone thinks and that
Will is not a vampire. But her heart tells her differently. The memories-like
dreams she is having are too real. How does she, or how will she reconcile the
two battles—the one that says she and Will belong together, regardless of who
and what they are, or the battle caused by an unexplainable, non-human love she
has for the Blue-Eyed Prince.
The Blue-Eyed Prince will
not give up on returning Luna to her “true world” and the creatures she was
destined to rule along-side him. His mental influence becomes stronger in Luna,
and he forces her to view their past and her role in it. Could she really have
been the evil creature that his visions imply she was? If not, then why does
she feel such grief when she kills a vampire?
Will has known the confrontation
with the Blue-Eyed Prince would eventually come. The Prince has distracted him
with battles involving Purebloods and the Elite, and he, as well as his
siblings are now feeling the effects. How much more will his family endure in
order to save him? How much more will he let them endure? But his family will
not give up on him because his only reason for being is his love for Luna. He
will not let her become a creature she once despised, for he is the reason she
died once before.
The Blue-Eyed Prince will
not let Luna stay in a world that includes Will. He will take her back to the
Realm of Night or he will see himself dead. Therefore, he must take Luna back
to his world one more time. Is this a dream that Luna will be able to escape? In
the “battle to end all battles” Luna must make her choice: Will as he really is
with his silver hair, red eyes, and fangs, or the Blue-Eyed Prince with his
vampire minions and his love for her.
