Noche, the Vampire Princess A.C

The Cross of Noche: A curse or a blessing?

For Princess Noche, humans could only be considered as food. They were the most sinful creatures she knew and she was disgusted with most men. That's why when Jesus came and die in the cross for the evil humans, she couldn't understand why. She loved her people, but her followers deserved to be loved. Vampires adored her, they would do anything to please her. To the Creatures of Night, as a Daughter of the Emperor she was also considered a daughter of god. But even so, she couldn't comprehend how this Son of God could have sacrifice Himself to such extremes for the people who condemned him. He died for the sinners. And when He died something happened.

Her Father created the Realm of the Night because of the impact His death had. Up until then Noche had never knew the power of the light. She was born after the war with the fallen angels, so she didn't had a clue of how much Heaven could affect them. But when He resurrected in the third day, every dark creature in the world burned to death. He overcame death, defeated it. And suddenly His name was lethal to any Creature of Night. The only survivors where the dark creatures that were hiding in Realm of the Night the Emperor had recently created. The Emperor knew about the Son. He knew about His mission and he feared it.

Noche was in the new Realm of the Night when she saw her fellows burned. He rose again, His grave was empty. And she understood He was a thread to her kind. Full of herself she went to defy him alone. Every warrior of darkness was afraid of Him. When she felt His presence she knew she didn't stand a chance. But He didn't killed her. They exchange some thoughts and He gave her a white cross He put around her neck. The cross was at the same time a blessing and a curse.

It tortured her with the most unbearable pain she'd ever experienced. The holy cross burned on her skin and for many centuries no vampire was able to touch her because they couldn't stand the cross. It was like pure light and was slowly killing her. Because of the cross she understood humans weren't food, they are the object of His love. They feel, they care, they hope. She was able to hear the screams of the people she had killed. She was capable of feeling the pain and terror she afflicted them. And not only them, but also the sorrow of the people who loved her victims.

In her own exile she stopped feeding on the blood of humans. She was slowly dying and her fellows were concern about her. Because she wasn't able to bared her fangs at children and she refused to killed any human being, her most loyal knights offered her their own vampire blood. It was that, or she would become a statue. Noche's soul was broken the moment she fed on her own kind. Even if it was willingly, she couldn't forgive herself as their princess.

As time went on she began protecting innocent humans. She was torn between two worlds and two different views. For vampires, killing and feeding on human was the natural thing to do. The cross gave her the curse of understanding human emotions. She fought against its power for many years, until she decided to find the reason why He died for creatures such as humans. What made humans the object of God incomprehensible love?

And looking for the answer, she found Will.
